It's mmmmminimalicious! Though I have to agree it drags on too long and there IS missing a climax. The "All these things" lyrics wouldn't fit in the dark, minimal mood of the remix. All in all, I quite like it. Might indeed work fine as a transition in a minimal/tech house set, aligning your heart beat to the bass.

I met Mr. Huntemann last weekend; he seemed nice enough and we had a little chat about the remix. He thought Crocodile (original) sounded very different from previous Underworld material, as is being discussed on here too. And is - luckily - always the case with new Underworld material, isn't it?

Re: crocodile - oliver huntemann remix
Dino3D is probably the worst song they've ever done.
so yea, i'd say this is better.
better than TMO even
AHDO is such a difficult album because for gems like 'little speaker' and 'luetin' there's also some terrible diversions, but the weirdest ones are those that tread the middle. it's sounds detailed and off kilter enough to be underworld at its most charming, but instead there's a crawling sense of losing it instead of staying fresh. it still pushing to make something special, but it falls flat too often. so while TMO is big massive and noisy, it just seems like empty calories after awhile.

i'm glad they tore themselves out of that and started messing around a bit and getting audacious again.

One of the worst (actually I don't like "worse", let's say least enjoyable, we are talking about UW here!), I agree. Something Like A Mama might top my list, just never got into it. Did hear/see it live and it didn't change my opinion, just reinforced it.

I disagree with this, TMO is one of my fav UW tracks and has withstood the test of time.

but we each have our own opinions, of course.

The Blue Mountain version is the best.

That's a great version, indeed! I never cared much for the studio version, but when played live, it rocked. Great mix in the Chicago 1999 gig, where Mama was mixed with Cups, i believe...it's amazing!

Re: DA3D being one of the worst. nah. It's just a bit too "safe", sounds like it wants to be another "King of Snake". But it's unmistakeably Underworld and rocks the house. I love hearing it crash all over after the few minutes of Ess Gee lull my senses.

But as for the remix...though the dub version is growing on me, i still think the OH mix strips away the essense of the track and doesn't replace it with anything special.

I like Huntemann remix
more and more...

Its great sound, but we remember UW banging a lot, right? Just one "dinoish" track please, that one... rez associate 16 mins groove impressions...that could be good

Re: crocodile - oliver huntemann remix
For what it's worth:
I made a ghetto edit of the OH mix, just for grins. I'm not crazy about minimal but I loved hearing the vocal so clearly! So I cut out half of the breakdown and slipped some rhythm from Creamer & K's 'I wish you were here' in behind the glitch. This gives it a much more sexier feel, IMO.

You can hear it here:

I'll only leave it up for a day or two.

I love the H. remix more and more too. Why ? Beacause he puts suffering in the track. Love it. It's not just a remix, but another version of the song (not like the Heller mixes,-amazing too). =)
