Re: CD's purchased while at College, Sept. - Dec.
Off the top of head,

Van Halen's - The Best of Both Worlds
Gap Band - The 12" Collection (This was sooo worth it)
Orb - Okie Dokie
Club Nouveau's Greatest Hits
James Zabiela - Utilities EP (surprise let down, but not terrible)
Goldfrapp - Ride a White Horse (I haven't cared for the mixes from Supernature, even I think they're gay)
Ratt - Ratt & Roll 8191 (some1 here @dirty made some Ratt comment & in a stoned stuper I thought this would be a good blast to the past / moral: never trust your instincts when riding with Sheeba, bad, bad idea)
Trentemoller - Minimal fox (long version)
Trentemoller - Le Champagne (long ver.)
Booka Shade - Movement
Booka Shade - Darko (mixes)
Booka Shade - Body Language (mixes)
MARRS - Pump Up the Volume (UK 12" mixes)
Orb - Aftermath/From a Distance
Steve Winwood - Back in the High Life (forgot how great this one is, LOVE Chaka)
T. Raumschmiere - Zartbitter EP (I LOVE THIS GUY)
Tanita Takarum - Twist In My Sobriety
Jesse Johnson - Baby Let's Kiss 12" version
Depeche Mode - John the Revelator (mixes, wish more were instrumental)(insert winking smiley)
Depeche Mode - Mercy In You with BRAT Mix which is the best one IMHO
Assemblage 23 - Straight to Video (nice to see 242 is still dwelling underground)

Oh and the Goldfrapp 7" picture disc with Flaming Lips Satin Chic mix/B-sides have fucking RULED

Re: CD's purchased while at College, Sept. - Dec.
Got lots of great music this semester:

Cardiacs - Sing to God Part 1 and 2...HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommended to anyone who'll listen - I hate to exaggerate but this is one of the greatest double albums I have EVER heard..
Yellow Magic Orchestra - Technodelic
The Moonriders - The Worst of the Moonriders
Junior Boys - So This is Goodbye
The Immortals - Mortal Kombat the Album (not the soundtrack! It's a really campy techno album put out by the Lords of Acid guy, I had it when I was a kid and lost it, so it really brings back memories)
Transit Kings - Living in a Giant Candle Winking at God
John Foxx - Metamatic
Elvis Costello - My Aim is True
Brian Eno and John Cale - Wrong Way Up

That's all I can think of for now...

So now what do these sound like? I like bluegrass, and I also like Led Zeppelin and the White Stripes. I wish I could think that these would sound cool, but I just can't imagine anything but cheesy gimmicks. I'm curious as to what these really sound like.

I have the Modest Mouse one on MP3, and it's extremely cheesy. Funny, but not something you want to listen to for more than like, ten minutes...
