But it's more fun to blast Yannick and demand answers!

Just my $0.02

what are the point of forums if we DON'T demand answers...

in all honesty, we are FANS, some of us are SUPER FANS.
we should find out or be told info before the regular public, right?

I won't spend a dollar per track for some snippet of music that has been collecting dust on Rick's G5...

I have tons of stuff like that on my computer, and you don't want to know how bad most of it sounds...

i doubt it'll be that rough, especially if they do end up charging for it (which i gathered from the word "Shop" that this would be the case).

From Karl's interview on Tong's show, they've been very prolific writing tunes, and i'm not at all surprised by the 150-180 tracks they say they have (consider Moby, also not a hack at making electronic music, has said he had several hundred contenders for both 18 and Play, and B-Side collections surfaced for both those LPs). Heck, R&K do this for a living, and though there are probably some sketchy unfinished tracks, i'd bet the majority are true to UW form!

maybe there will be clumped songs (5 or 6 mixed together) then they'll sell us different mixes...all around the price of $1. all i know is they should give us warning, not just drop, "ok kids here's 180 songs: each with a peice of art work and encoded at 128... all for the LOW price of $2 each"

I agree. Given that Tongy has mentioned a '25 minute piece of music', and we're heard the first bits of it 'Electronic Pt.1 & 2', then I think the chances are good that will be one of the first things available.

Personally, I'll be happy to pay up for something like this, but only if it's in decent quality (i.e. FLAC). Other online shops are starting to wise up to this as well, such as Bleep.com, which offered FLAC versions of the last Autechre album.

yea - but Bleep doesn't always offer FLAC stuff for everything

...and 150 flacs is a TON of space on a hard-drive

Re: new underworld music - available in the shop later this week
No, not really. Like his music or not, he's still a composer. i'm not saying that Moby works the same way as Rick and Karl, i'm just pointing out that it's not surprising that these professional musicians have a large backlog of material to put out.

Yes, i purchased "18" and "Hotel", and was disappointed by both. i wish Moby'd picked different tracks from his pile o' tunes. And maybe that's what the UW boys are asking us to do...help whittle down ideas for proper release?
