Re: Underworld Electronica contemporaries
Works with FSOL quite a bit these days too. Was never a big breaks fan, but the Propellerheads album was pretty great.

Definitely check out the kasm02 EP that came out a couple of years earlier, which 2 tracks showed up on Impossible Star. He also released another limited edition Tour EP when he played Cold Waves last year before the album release that is also great. If you like Impossible Star, check out MBM's 2008 album Autoimmune. There's two very different versions with alternate tracklists and edits/mixes of songs. I have both, but I would say check out the Metropolis Records one first... https://www.discogs.com/Meat-Beat-Ma...elease/1289570 Autoimmune has its own Tour EP with extra non-album tracks. I remember Autoimmune was intended to be a double album, but then Jack decided against it. If you dig Autoimmune, then you'll dig his side project The JDS, which released the album Education under in 2010... https://www.discogs.com/JDs-Education/master/286190 In 2012, Jack released the Test EP / It's Just The Music under the alias The Forger, if you like his mid to late 90s big beat/breaks inspired style... https://www.discogs.com/Meat-Beat-Ma...elease/3694882 Jack Dangers loves his aliases. He's releasing a new limited edition 2 track vinyl as Meat Beat Manifesto. Last edited by iamneorev; 11-16-2018 at 08:29 PM. |

--------- 1 chemical brothers - exit planet dust sorry but nothing they've done since then comes close 2 crystal method - vegas another classic album that hasn't been equaled since then 3 uberzone - faith in the future early 2000's, but still groundbreaking 4 propellerheads - decksandrumsandrockandroll great, but somewhat derivative of other groups and sounds. =============== can't go wrong with any of them, but there is definitely a hierarchy for me. that stands to this day. [no, i don't regard dust brothers, daft punk, basement jaxx up there in those categories]. later -1 |

Re: Underworld Electronica contemporaries
Speaking of 90s big beat, you folks ever hear of Overseer?
Well he just released a new album under a new alias Fatlantic and I'm quite loving it! Fatlantic - Offshore Breaks https://open.spotify.com/album/5epb4...RiyvvntmsWn1JQ |
