yea - that's why I never bought the deluxe edition of the new album...
I mean - I like ...REALLY Like Underworld... but over $100 for a (single disc) new album is absurd

for me, if i like the music, i don't care what it costs,
$100, $1000, it doesn't matter.....

the fact that it was a limited edition and sold out, means other people thought the same, that the market will accept it.

i've spent way more, for a lot less...

if it's not worth it to you, there's no point in complaining because your pricepoint is going
to be different from everyone elses.

i remember similar complaints for the tokyo live 3cd, the artbook and cd releases,
and pretty much every other limited release they have had.

since i don't really care for this album, the limited boxset could have been
$10 or $1 and i wouldn't have bought it.

Well, there's the price one is willing to pay for the product, and then there's the cost of shipping. I think the complaint is with the latter. The music, box, art, limited edition bragging rights...yes, the value varies by individual. But complaining about getting gouged on shipping is a valid complaint, because it makes already expensive products prohibitively so.

to me, shipping price is also a part of getting it.

again, i wonder if anyone would still buy the boxset even if the
shipping was reasonable or low.

so, it really doesn't matter overall, because if you've made up
your mind that it is too expensive to begin with, then the shipping
cost wouldn't impact it.

to me, whatever it costs overall is it, period.

Then you resign yourself to getting fleeced for no added value. Yeah, the boxes were expensive, but I justified them by funding different sources (eg Amazon) and not wasting my hard earned on shipping from the UK. I miss your point that it costs what it costs...that's only true if there's only one way to purchase something.

i'm only referring to the 'barbara, barbara' boxset, not the other ones.

originally, it was an exclusive to underworldlive, so there was only one way to get it.

sure, people could look for aftermarket copies now.
but if you want to guarantee getting one, that was the only way to get it.

with the other boxsets, sure people definitely shop around, which i also
do.
