Where are we now?
As a sort of expansion from the "Favorite Song of the Day" thread, which tracks immediate interests, i thought it would be fun to list a few artists that are currently rocking you socks. Annnnnd looook baaaaack 10 years and recall who you were listening to back in 2002.
Here goes: 2002 Holden was really into: Underworld (of course) Orbital Fluke Fiona Apple Poor Old Lu Sigur Ros Knapsack Medeski Martin and Wood 2012 Holden is grooving on: Underworld (well, sure) Ulrich Schnauss Marconi Union Nada Surf various ambient netlabelists

Re: Where are we now?
2002:
Underworld U2 Joe Satriani Stone Temple Pilots Vast Moby 2012: Underworld David Bowie Ha, I don't have a lot of play time from other music groups; not as of late. I listen to all sorts of other music artists nowadays (I'll listen to different artists from Mass Attack to Kraftwerk and Athex Twin, from The Beatles to The Rolling Stones), but Underworld and David Bowie have been the artists I've listened to a lot in the past several months. I still love U2. I'm long overdue for the deluxe edition of Achtung Baby. I'll be listening to more Air soon, too, as their new album hits in less than a week. |

Re: Where are we now?
This is really tough for me, because it's not until I got my own iPod and computer in 2004 with access to ebay and amazon (and later, torrents) that I finally managed to clean out my "wishlist" and listen to a whole bunch of music that was new to me. In 2002 I liked UW, and King Crimson, and some indie bands I randomly discovered, but I didn't really know any better! Anyway, here's what I was into in 2004:
Underworld (obviously) Talking Heads Sparks Genesis Modest Mouse Radiohead Rip Slyme Frank Zappa Devo They Might be Giants The Orb Nowadays: P-Model/Susumu Hirasawa (takes up nearly half of my listening) Van der Graaf Generator/Peter Hammill (takes up the other half) and a bunch of other bands that I apparently, have no time to listen to: Yellow Magic Orchestra/Haruomi Hosono Roedelius Denki Groove Robert Wyatt Soul Coughing/M. Doughty |

Re: Where are we now?
Where can I buy music from them? I tried Amazon before but didn't find anything. What are good albums to get from them. I heard Cafe de Oni and I really like it. What album has that song?

Re: Where are we now?
That one's from their first album, Flash Papa. You're right, it's very tough to really obtain any of their stuff. Even Youtube has few tracks outside of their singles. I was able to get a couple of discs off Amazon but honestly I think Slsk is your best bet. Or you could PM me.
