I've only been to SD for Comic Con a few years ago, so not too familiar with the area. Anyone have tips on where to stay/eat/avoid?

if your budget allows for it, i'd try to score a room near the marina ( marriot, hilton, or hyatt) which basically is below market street and puts you within close proximity of the downtown points of interest. the walk to 4th and B would be a little under 15min. there are also cheaper hotels near there like the double tree or motel 6, but there is not much to see or do in those areas.

wow, sounds like we're gonna have a enough dirts to justify a proper meet! maybe just maybe we might get yan too?

i'll be photographing the gig, but am totally down to shoot the shit at some point

If you're planning on spending the weekend out there, might I suggest going over to Coronado Island.

Yeah, stayed over there before. Wonderful, but the budget doesn't allow it this time.
I got the Courtyard Marriot a few miles away, as they were just over $100 per night.

There is a Halloween parade going through the gaslamp district that night so if you're thinking of going, now would be the time to start looking at hotels as they are getting snapped up as we speak.

Thanks for the tip! I got to start planning this out since I'm not doing the SF/LA thing anymore. Anyone else doing SD --> LA?

I am doing SD so that I don't have to do LA, even though I live there.
Hotel booked. Could just drive down, but gonna make a weekend of it.
