Re: Oldboy
I saw it last night. i really liked. At the end i was just wanting to happen something to Dah Su...way too much for a gossip uh?!! The narrative is amazing, a good greek trady taken to screen... the editing was the sweetest thing... A must seen.

Re: Oldboy
I started a thread on the old forum about this just after it came out, and got a few people interested. I heard theyre remaking it in Hollywood so I urge you to see the original before they ruin it and sanitise it because YOU KNOW they will. This was the best film of 2003/4 and didnt win a truckload of prizes for nothing. The DVD is well worth buying. You can get the 2DVD version at BlahDVD in the UK for £7.99, though there's a 3 disc version floating about.
More info here.

Re: Oldboy
The big fight sequence in the hall when Day-Su pulled the guy's teeth was done on the first take and 2 guys had to be sent to the hospital. Amazing stuff, no?
My friend Marc (aka Sappy's Curry from the old board) can't wait for the third installment of this vengeance series called "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance". He's flying to New York just for the premiere. Anyone see "Mr. Vengeance"? |

Re: Oldboy
The above link says the hallway scene took three days. I suspect the first take rumour was a misunderstanding of the actual scene being an uninterrupted shot.
