This is AWESOME. Rather than just switching the placement on stage like they did last time, it sounds like they're completely redoing their stage setup. I'm certainly looking forward to this.

Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
Dave Spiers is talking a bit about the "new UW live rig" on the recent Sonicstate podcast:

http://www.sonicstate.com/news/2009/...d-and-classic/

(about 50:25)

Basically he says they can't find a robust, big USB Controller,
so I guess they're going for bit more control over the Computers, presumably Ableton Live.

/edit: he's also stating at the end he's looking for a mixing desk "smaller than a Midas" (56:15)
looks like they wanna go for a more compact stage setup, maybe ...

Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
Awesome find! Thanks.

I really wish that there was more of the technical stuff, such as this, posted up. Don't get me wrong, I love hearing about the tracks, Karls vocals/writing, etc., but there's very little content similar to this. Would be great to see more.

Very interesting listen, not the biggest geek on this sort of thing but Ricks live set up is really intresting seeing hes not hunched over a laptop and you can actually see what hes doing via video feeds etc. Can't find the link at the minute, but there was an article detailing the set up they used on the road.

Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
CDJ platters are pressure-sensitive. The gear nerd inside of me is getting seriously irked looking at the photo of that pedal just resting on top of of the platter. I mean, yeah, I know that it's probably alright, but there's part of me that cringes every time I look at it.

Then again, I've always been overly-sensitive about my gear. *shrug*

Great to hear a bit more about the live setup, though.
