I said when emerson left on these very forums that they should get darren price in with rick right away because karl and rick on their own were making to many trippy slow tracks emerson gave them the kick they needed and price can offer the same and think this is why rick has introduced him into the band to give them an edge again because the barras gig in 2002 was ok but it was nothing compared to the barras gig in 99 with emerson which was banging with visuals too.
Anyway i think a club night would give them more benefits promote them again to the club fraternity and masses again which is much, much needed for the boys. The die hards like us are always going to be here and buy their stuff but thats not enough they need to be recognised again for the scene they represent they need more dance fans buying their albums and gaining an interest again they hit a bit of a block in my opinion with a hundred days off the album was rushed and was in a way a sort of panic album to say that without emerson we will play on but the live shows at that era lacked visuals and character thus why they reverted to playing dirty epic and spoonman surfboy etc because a lot of the a hundred days off tracks could not cut it live in my opinion.

Rubbish. Case in point, Death In Vegas - dropped their label (akin to dropping a member), released an album with poor sales (Satan's Circus), latest musical offerings are "slow and trippy", lost a lot of financial muscle due to moving to 'own' label and subsequently show presentation (ie visuals) got toned
right down.
Tour 2003 played Barrowlands, tour 2004 with above changes, played the Arches as a gig. I can't think of any time when one of the groups the size of Underworld played an Arches club night live.
