Re: Liars, the lot of them all

fact. They played live pretty much all the tracks from both albums prior to the release of "Kid A" option 1 - "Kid A" becomes a double-album. Which record companies hate, b/c they cost more to produce, and there's a bit of a stigma about double-disks "and that they suck" [not that I believe that second part necessarily] => solution - 'hey guys, if we just release them as two different albums, we can CHARGE DOUBLE!!!! *yay and the record comany & the band can glad hand and slap each other on the back option 2 - "Kid A" drops some stuff, and a few tracks f/ Amnesiac hop onto that album (to me - half of Amnesiac sounds like nothing more than filler -> "Hunting Bears"? "Morning Bell/Amnesiac"? "Dollars & Cents"?) - record company & band hate this option, as they get less money, and don't have something to push momentum towards ticket sales ..and let's not forget that the reason why RH albums haven't been available digitally isn't b/c "itunes is evil" or "mp3's sound like crap" it's because they couldn't force customers to always buy tracks as "album only" - such that you couldn't buy just one song - you have to buy entire albums and to me - "Cherry Pie" "Oich Oich" "Mos Ospitable" and "Puppies" all sound like they're in the same realm as Kid A / Amnesiac But I really DON'T hate Radiohead. I just think that they are too oftenly given this altruistic tint over them... (and they recycle too many of their tunes) |
