Ew, this remix is kinda crappy. So uninspired..

But hey, it might work in a club!

Might not..

Re: Ring Road - Fake Blood Remix - Underworldlive.com
the vocal chopping is kind of interesting but the dated samples and synth sounds are weak. not my cup of tea at all.

Re: Ring Road - Fake Blood Remix - Underworldlive.com
I don't have a problem with this remix or the remix by Laidback Luke. That said, I don't particularly like either of them. I guess I am indifferent since I have so many better Underworld tracks I can opt to listen to instead. (and the live show coming up too!) I don't expect every Underworld track (remixed by Underworld or not) to be spectacular, and I think it's expected for there to be tracks every so often that can only be described as lackluster.

I just hope Underworld does a couple of their own remixes and maybe a nice B-side if Ring Road is indeed the next single. I've been hoping to get a new Best Mamgu Ever.

Oh yeah, I forgot about one thing that annoyed me about the Fake Blood remix. I really dislike that high pitched "ahhhh, yeah!" or is it "whooo, yeah!" sample; it is not fit for any Underworld song.

you see.... while it may be fun sometimes to put on a remix of a UW tune, sit back, have a cup of tea... then stroke your chin for hours contemplating the 'meaning' of the remix, and its greater social commentary

...other times, you just want something with a load of energy, that's actually danceable

it's like COME ON - you can't tell me you guys weren't a little bored with the BB remixes? minimal tech blah blah blah - or am I the only one who's already stopped playing them?

(and I even LIKE Pig & Dan and Tiefschwarz)

Everyone. Except Sean, he's just plugging himself. I always knew he was a cheap little tramp. :}

no,

in fact, those mixes are the saving grace for this album,
if it weren't for them......every release from this album
would be considered to be a flop, (by me)..

c'mon underworld needs to wake up,
it's that simple..

at least in the past, we had a choice of good/bad mixes
(born slippy rerelease 1996(not the 2003), the pearls girl
re-releases 1996 , the king of snake re-releases 1999, etc)..

now there's not even a choice (except with beautiful burnout),
they've all been 100% horrible.

yes, there's been a lot of bad remixes in the past,
which i'll list shortly.....but that's no excuse to continue
doing them..

chin-stroking? contemplating? tea? commentary? load of energy? danceable? are you saying this is actually more interesting than minimal? what? are you in on this?

actually, i'm going to contradict myself here..

in going back, and listening to many of the early underworld,
and lemon interupt tracks, those samples and sounds are
actually QUITE APPROPRIATE, (see 'the hump', 'big mouth', etc)

however, that was , what , about 16 years ago?

so no, i don't think they're useful now, unless they're deliberately
going for that 'retro' sound...

Re: Ring Road - Fake Blood Remix - Underworldlive.com
guys... come on... seriously is there a written formula that says we cannot use samples from the past....?

some of us like this mix, some don't - its like almost all remixes every released.... some people like them and others don't

the track in its original form is one of the most controversial on the album anyway - with some people loving it and others hating it....

best thing to do is put up the elements of the track on uw live and get the guys here to mix it up -

no 'rush jobs' though
