(Man, again, not to be too insensitive, but Gilliam can't catch a break, can he? Just see the documentary LOST IN LA MANCHA to understand what I mean. It's about Terry trying to film a Don Quixote film which had the worst production problems ever and the film was shut down.)

I had almost the exact same thought and wrote the following to a co-worker in another dept. upon learning of Ledger's death.

This is a strange day indeed and sad.

A casualty of this and it's terrible to think of this in these terms is Terry Gilliam. Ledger is one of the leads in his new film currently shooting and Ledger's passing is yet another in the continuing debacle of Gilliam attempting to make films and then being inundated with sometimes insurmountable situations. This seems like a continuation of what we witnessed in Lost in La Mancha.

...am I the only one who found it odd that he was found in one of the Olson twins' place? I mean... isn't he like 35, and aren't they like... 20?

but almost - even more so for the people he fucked over... both in his personal & professional worlds (like his kid and Terry Gilliam, who - as it's already been said, can't catch a break)

That was a crazy rumor re: Olsen apartment. They were even saying that they think it might have been Mary-Kate Olsen who died and not Heath Ledger. Seriously.

But I guess it wasn't there place, it was an erroneous report.

On the radio this morning family were referring to it as a "tragic accident". Either way, it's a bummer. RIP.
