Should they have been playing these songs all along? As their exposure, singles, and audiences increased, i think you have to placate the casual fan who wants to hear the hits and attract them to buy the record. Not sure they need to apologise for not playing Oic Oic more often, for example. I consider the live broadcasts, be they DJ sets, sharing new original material, or in this case, bringing back some classics, as being gifts to us, the hardcore fans.

Interesting to hear tracks like "Peach Tree" and "Little Speaker", which afaik have never been played live. And some of the older track were updated and jammed very nicely. Mixing quality a bit suspect, but hey, if it's live, it's live and it was a great 2 and a half hours for the fans.

Blame the Misterons! Although I'd say Underworld 4 Misterons 0.

I believe a split (and eventually tagged) version will appear on the venerable rtsr. thanks to raj for beginning the labelling.

I'd say some kind of balance between placating casual fans and more hardcore would be preferable. I kind of get where Negative1 is coming from in that you could ask the question why they never ever played these songs in all those gigs but instead endless variations on Nuxx, KOS, Moaner, TMO, Jumbo. Would all the casual fans suddenly stop going to concerts or buying the album if from time to time Underworld dug a little deeper into their discography for the liveshow?

Anyway I really enjoyed this set simply because of all the old and more obscure stuff thrown in, even if it didn't always gel too well with whatever Price was doing in between.

Just back from work and party. I am gonna say it, and sorry if it offends, but FOR FUCK'S SAKE!

Oblivion Ball - some people whining cos they don't get the old/obscure stuff that they would want to hear.....UW boring now.... only playing commercial stuff...not like the old days.... blah blah ad nauseam.

So they do a totally awesome set including all the absolute gems that people have been crying out for, the best FREE broadcast they have ever done, and there are STILL some people who have to moan about it! I seriously do not believe it. Seriously. Do. Not. Believe. It.

GET A LIFE!!!! PLEASE!!! OR STOP WHINING. OR SOMETHING. WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT? BLOOD?!!

</rant>

Edit:actually, not end rant, not yet. Raj - "yeah, it's harsh".... harsh? No. Out there where the bloody buses don't run any more, maybe? Yes you are. I won't apologise again because actually I wonder if there is anything, ever, that will make some people happy. And this kind of moaning on people's part says more about their own life-states and where they are at personally than about anything that the band are doing. Get a grip, chaps - seriously. Are you listening to the same broadcast as us? I really do wonder. A B-?! In your mind, baby. No-one elses.

What a jam. What a band. Bowl of RICE.

Jesus. I've always wanted a mix of 'Little Speaker' and boy, boy, boy just exactly like that mix.

AND all the other stuff was beautiful.

RICK+KARL+thatdudewhofirstnameisDARREN; respect.

Best band in the world.

Peach Tree is awesome. If that was it, it would be great. But then there is all the other cool stuff.

Re: Misterons Jam info
lol now we're just asking them to put on another ECG (which isn't really to my taste anyway) inside of a studio webcast. that version of spoonman was the best i've ever heard, and it's also the best recording of BS original that we're going to get. it was loud, heavy, and about as good as i could hope for. the samples isnt the point, it's what they do with them, and they worked some magic in there.

not trying to shut you up, i just think yr wrong.
