New Chemical Brothers
Hi all,
Did everyone catch the new Chemical Brothers tracks on Pete Tong's Essential Selection last night? Exclusive plays of EBW8 & EBW9... You should be able to hear it on the listen again feature on bbc.co.uk/radio1 - EBW8 is 78 mins in and i think 9 is about 90 mins in... I really liked the Battle Weapon 8 - very dirty sounding, lots of bass and breaks, i also liked Battle Weapon 9 so much but i need a few more listens to make a better judgement ![]() Mike |

Anyone remember the other EBW's and what became of them? EBW1: essentially "It Doesn't Matter", plus some squiggly acid noises EBW2: version of "Get Up on it like this" EBW3: "Under the Influence" EBW4: "Freak of the Week" (B side, on American EP, and really kickin!) EBW5: "It began in Afrika" EBW6: version of "Hoops" EBW7: "Acid Children" (B side to Galvanize)

Those two tracks (DSTR + GUOILT) seem like one track almost to me on the album.

Thanks for isolating these new ones! I'm really enjoying the build-up and tear-down of #8. Sounds very epic when the rock drums and background synths kick in...perhaps a vocal might go on top of this? #9: insane acid, this! Reminds me a bit of their 1999 B-side "Flashback", with the many layers and distorted vocal. The whispering low in the mix is very spooky. Not much harmony here, just a lot of space sounds over an electro bassline, but it would sound awesome in a club, inho!
