So I searched the forums and didn't actually see any top 10 DM threads....so. Since Mattv can have his New Order ... I can have my DM.


What are your DM playlists. Not your top ten, per se, but disc length...as if you'd burn a disk for someone else...what would your personal DM picks be.

Not necessarily a top ten....just 10-15 tracks that you value.

...although I seem to go between absolutely LOVING some DM tracks, then being completely and totally apathetic towards them; but I'd definitely say that I'm more of a fan of their Violator-onward part of their career than like 85-88

I only have 2 DM albums, one of which I have barely listened to, but I think that Some Great Reward is fantastic and the track "If You Want" is my favorite...can't get it out of my head!!! So I guess I'd put that one on there. HOPE THIS HELPS

i consider myself a casual DM fan...i own a bunch of their albums and like the music, but i'm not fanatical. Nonetheless, here goes, top Mode songs for me, random order:

who else has heard the leaks of the new Depeche Mode stuff?

I've got to say - I'm really liking "Martyr", I got it back in September and I'm still listening to it pretty regularly

the remixes of that track specificially... well - they're ok, but not as good as some of the ones from other singles off of Playing the Angel

but the ones of the older Mode tracks are pretty damn good. I just wish that they were going to get a US release... which I don't think they are, just on cdr promo's and like on UK iTunes only

martyr has a pretty good lead guitar line. it carries the song to pretty-coolness. problem is, the lyrics really seem a rehash of many other songs.

yea - I'll give you that the lyrics are kind of a rehash...


but it is supposed to be a single for their their 'best of' - which I'm pretty sure is the only time they've done a proper 'best' which includes both phases of their career
