Hah, I like it how this list gets longer everytime, BUT I think the list is long enough now.
Asuming that Professor is still willing to do the hosting of the tracks, I don't think we can let more people join in, and MAYBE we should even do a Time limit? Say we have 12 people now, and we have a time limit of 6 minutes, we have a 72 minute compilation?
Now that the deadline has moved, I should dfinitely be able to do it.

Ok, It's best to shut the doors now. There will have to be hosted a lot of mb's and I don't want to move the deadline further up.

I had an idea, before we release the final compilation, we could discuss with eachother in which order the tracks should be listened. So that ultimate listening pleasure is guaranteed Is that a good idea?

Re: Heads up on the Dirty Compilation
It's a great idea. Having them play in an order that flows well will only accentuate the quality of each track.

EDIT - I have an idea too. Since I've recently busted my cherry on the whole FLAC thing, I was wondering if that would be a good way to send our tracks to you, Professor. I think I can encode my track to FLAC format with the software I got. It would obviously be a great way to keep the tracks at the highest audio quality possible. If anyone needs any tips on how to do this, here's the free software I downloaded for it....

And instructions on how to use it...

This is for Windows, but I'm sure something comparable is available for Mac, too.

NOTE:

Please keep in mind, that now I've taken charge of this project, I want this my way. heh. What I mean to say is, I've made up my mind and I don't want a fluffy summer tune followed up with dark drum & bass.

And your tune better be good.

Re: Heads up on the Dirty Compilation
The mix could be very sweet, provided the tracks transition well...i think it's best to wait and hear, though. If the styles/moods are really diverse, it might sound crappy mixed, no matter how technically smooth the transitions are. With mixes, it's largely about the track selection.

i'm glad things are moving forward on this! And i'm REALLY glad the deadline's moved back to later June (i'm defending my doctorate dissertation on June 8th, so afterwards i'll either be partyman Dr. Holden or drunk in a gutter. Either way, it should inspire some tunes )
