TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
I had the enormous pleasure of seeing TOOL last night on the first night of their U.S. small venue tour.

Incredible. They sounded great. The visuals were awesome. The new material sounded phenomenal. They played "The Pot" which is my favorite cut off of 10,000 Days and I kicked it backstage with the band (Maynard wasn't there unfortunately -- probably doing yoga somewhere or something).

If any of you out there get the chance, see them on this small venue tour...quite possibly the show of the year...

oooh....tis quite an original insult. Perhaps you can indulge us all with a few more TOOL insults. I assume they're easy to come by.

Re: TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
bxsci, was there seating at the Paramount or was it GA? I've never been there but from what I've read about the place it's a traditional style theater with rows of seats etc etc.

Re: TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
There was no GA at the Paramount for TOOL, and actually the seating added to the theatrical nature of the performance...of course no one was actually sitting...

Re: TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
I was curious about the seating in regards to the Paramount as musicals and other non rock shows go to that venue. I figured the Paramount's seating was much like the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall here in Portland. When I saw Tool in August of 2001 during their small 12 show West coast tours with King Crimson at this venue it was same thing. Of course the Schnitzer in Portland is where the symphony and operas and things like that play here in Portland with the occassional rock show or two. But for Tool to play there it was a bit of shock for people, but it was an ideal venue for an amazing performance.
