T In The Park 2006
Anyone interested should keep an eye on www.tinthepark.com or www.festivals.co.uk as there's a press conference in Glasgow in half an hour. Ticketing details and some of the lineup will be announced, I'll copy and paste into this thread as soon as I see anything.

Re: T In The Park 2006
Straight from the website:

Never before has there been such eager anticipation for T in the Park to launch and we're telling YOU before anyone else what's happening so here goes...

It is with the utmost pleasure that festival organisers Big Day Out Ltd and founding partners Tennent's Lager announce the first of the international line-up and the news on how, where and when to purchase tickets for the festival at Balado, near Kinross, Scotland....
At a packed media launch today, festival organiser Geoff Ellis will announce that American funk-rock heroes and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS will headline the festival on SATURDAY 8th July.
Seminal British music icons THE WHO, whose guitar legend Pete Townshend vowed to return to the festival after performing at last year's festival with Rachel Fuller, will bring the curtain down on SUNDAY 9th July.
THE hottest band on the planet right now, the record-smashing, punk-pop northerners ARCTIC MONKEYS will make a welcome debut, almost a year to the day they performed at the world famous King Tut's Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow.
Leeds boys, KAISER CHIEFS who have rocketed to stardom in just 12 months and Iceland's SIGUR ROS are also confirmed. From the hometurf... legendary rockers PRIMAL SCREAM will headline the King Tut's Tent on Sunday, their 3rd visit to T in the Park. As if that ain't enough, THE ORDINARY BOYS return after Preston waxed lyrical about his love of playing to Balado.
The Slam Tent celebrates 10 years at the festival, first up announcing Chicago house impresario FELIX DA HOUSECAT on Sunday and as well of course, the SLAM boys themselves. For more info on the event or to take a look back at last year's history, click HERE. Many many more artists will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
TICKETS go on sale this FRIDAY 17TH FEBRUARY at 9am.
Tickets are available by clicking HERE or by calling Ticketmaster on 0870 169 0100 or in person at select official outlets (click HERE to check which are our OFFICIAL outlets and please DO NOT buy from unofficial sources). Remember that 20,000 of you snapped up the limited quantity of tickets that went on sale last July, a day after the 2005 event, so you'd better be quick come Friday... Near or far, home or abroad, thanks to everyone who has registered for tinthepark.com and welcome to T in the Park 2006... its going to be quite a trip.

Tickets will sell out before noon on Friday I'm thinking - if you guys come you're more than welcome to crash at mine before and after. I'll have the spare room decorated by then so will have more capacity. If I get the chance I'll call you tonight as I have some grovelling to do for making an arse of what weekend your party was. I'll call if I get up the road in time, stuck in uni at the moment.

Re: T In The Park 2006
Franz Ferdinand added to main stage Saturday behind the Chilli Peppers:

Good news, mean I'll be able to stay away from the main stage on the Saturday for the last few hours of the evening

Re: T In The Park 2006
OK I got my tickets and there's a good squad of eight of us going in all Anyone else here lucky? If you weren't and you still want to go - I'm 99.9% certain there will be an allocation of tickets re-released numbering in the thousands because of duplicate orders being cancelled, similar to Glastonbury last two years. Also rumours of an increase in capacity. Hold tight.

Not very lucky mate - I'm pretty sure that order will get scaled back down to two tickets. Big Day Out & Ticketmaster seem to be very determined to cancel all duplicate orders (more than two per household according to some ticketmaster staff) this year. I'd have your mate phone them if you haven't had the tickets delivered yet.
