Just got news in that the Silver Jews are touring. Kind of a cult indie rock act - here's the e-mail from the tripTych festival. Well worth checking out.

Following much speculation, we're delighted to confirm that skewed rock idols The Silver Jews will play their first-ever Scottish dates at this year's festival, which runs in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen from April 26-30.
The Silver Jews are set to play Edinburgh's Bongo Club on Thursday April 27 and Glasgow's Tramway on Friday April 28.
Performing live for the very first time in a celebrated fifteen-year career, enigmatic versifier David Berman and his endlessly erudite Silver Jews are finally set to gratify ears and enliven hearts with a clutch of inaugural Stateside shows in March, before crossing the water to woo Triptych aficionados and music lovers with their heady, hazy, hairy, grace.
Mainstay Berman, (who founded Silver Jews with Pavement's Stephen Malkmus and Bob Nastanovich in 1990), has promised a live extravaganza in the wake of last year's excellent Tanglewood Numbers album (the band's sixth - it featured 'honorary Jews' Will Oldham, Lambchop's Tony Crow and ex-member Malkmus amongst others). As one might expect from the self-proclaimed 'dumbfounding psyche-theistic humanist hawk-rockers', this will be no everyday gig...
Alongside a blaze of elegiac, off-kilter, alt-country rock from Berman and co, we can anticipate a 'fiery oratorical challenge' from former Pavement percussionist Nastanovich; a multimedia extravaganza; and Country Comedy by Kevin Guthrie and Corny Crow - all of which will be co-hosted by Berman's wife and collaborator, Cassie.
To wit: expect the unexpected.

Further details of The Silver Jews' line-up and live show will be announced, along with this year's full Triptych programme, on March 1st. Mogwai have already confirmed an Edinburgh show at Edinburgh's Queens Hall on Thursday April 27th.
