New Order - Wireless Friday 24th June
this gig really rocked - despite technical problems, and the weather, which considering it was midsummer's day stunk...( a bit like the Finsbury Park gig a couple of years back...does it always rain on the Manchester band??)
any one else go to Hyde Park...or catch them at Glasto...?? i saw the footage on BBC 3 which was great New Order will never ever get boring to watch Live in my opinion...Temptation, at Hyde Park was especially fantastic... i was bang down the front moshing with loads of 30-40 somethings...one of the most civilised mosh events ever, everyone was pulling each other up making sure no one got trampled whilst at the same time whacking each other and pushing all over the place - it was awesome.... nearly caught Barney's plectrum at the end of the night it hit me on the shoulder and then twatted some bloke in the eye...it got lost in the mud... a very sweaty and exhillarating perfomance..was made all the better for it being my birthday, meeting up with some friends who live locally but who we only EVER see at New Order gigs...and staying in London so that we could go out and get pissed afterwards...a great Night, thanks to Barney Hooky, Steve & the New Bloke...

Re: New Order - Wireless Friday 24th June
I thought they were a total embarassment at Glastonbury. Please make them stop before they a) perform in public again or b) think it's a good idea to release another reputation defiling record.

You sound like my mate slagging Oasis at the gig at Hampden last night... I was just happy to see them.Did they play Blue Monday at Wireless? I'm trying to decide if it's worth seeing them again at T In The Park.. either LCD Soundsystem or Ritchie Hawtin vs Ricardo Vilalobos are clashing with them and it all hinges on whether I'm gonna get to see Blue Monday live. |

the only band i'd NOT see new order for would be Underworld if they clashed, at Glasto they clashed with Ian Brown, which would have bugged me had i been there...but i wasn't and so got to see both on the TV..but i still would have seen new order for sure...

Re: New Order - Wireless Friday 24th June
Decided then. Gonna catch LCD Soundsystem followed by Ritchie Hawtin vs Ricardo Villalobos, then roll over to the NME Stage at 10:35 to catch the last while of New Order.
I'd be interested to know why they didn't play Blue Monday at Glastonbury..
