Bird 1 Request
Bird 1 off Barking is a fantastic track however I feel the synth stabs instead of a snare or clap is completely jarring and doesnt fit with the flow of the track at all. With all the talent frequenting these boards, would anyone want to take a "stab" at remixing this track without the stabs?

Re: Bird 1 Request
i feel like it doesn't go far enough... the mix is kind of weak. when the synth chorus comes in it should be a lot more 'wall of sound' like than it is. the 'stabs' don't really bother me.

Re: Bird 1 Request
Those blips/stabs in place of drums don't really bother me, either- they're just an element of "build" before the first "There is one bird in my house" refrain - which t akea a good 3 minutes to reach, too!
Take another listen, if you can, to the second disc of the box set, of the working versions of Barking's tracks. Like or not the additional production, it did make a lot of sketchy tracks more solid, and UW ultimately approved (at least i have a hard time believing that Rick would let something dubious slide past) the final versions. A lot of elements on Barking hearken to an earlier techno/electro style. These stabs are such. Not a futuristic-sounding record, but not dated, either.
