Re: Frankenstein - The Album, March 17
Anyone else having serious volume issues with this release? I had my iPhone earbuds in, and the volume CRANKED, and could still just barely hear the overture as well as most parts of the other tracks.

It is fairly dynamic (like most classical music) therefore gets very loud when a lot of stuff is happening, but tends to be quiet when not much is going on.

no I mean barely audible thru the iphone earbuds. I can't listen to the Overture on my phone. It's practically silent for minutes at at time.

On the comp, I need to turn the volume way up -- much higher than any other album.

hmm... well - when I played it on my laptop - it was really hard to heard the majority of songs - except for those HEAVY CRASHING NOISES

As far as my actual iPod... I've only listened to the Overture and did like a reeeaaaaalllly quick skim through the other tracks. .... but anyway

yea - it is hard to hear some parts but it didn't seem as bad as when I played it via computer speakers (I mean - it was easier to hear on headphones than on my speakers - but I don't use those standard white iPod headphones, I've got Shure headphones/earbuds - forget model number). I could hear definite things going on on the "Overture" - there's just a lot of low drones and soft synth

But I think this is down to the fact it's not an "album" and it's not even really a "soundtrack" in the sense of a normal soundtrack. I mean - this is for the theatre, where it's more sound effects and cues for actions within the play

I used to help with audio stuff back when I dated a girl who was getting her BFA in technical theater, and more often than not - they'd only use like... less than 30 seconds of any track -> be it ambient tone, instrumental track, or even a full on song (or with a "full on song" you'd get more than 30 seconds - but like never the full length song... unless it was a musical... but now I'm just rambling)

Yes, the volume is fucked up and won't play very loud in my car. Even cranking it doesn't sound much better. On the computer it is not as noticable as stated by others above, and I haven't yet converted to iPod to check it as well....
