moby's "machete"
![]() why isn't this song recognised more often? it's one of my favourites and it really beats the hell out of the stuff he's doing now. the song structure, the intensity of the emotion, it's just a great song, yet you never hear this one mentioned, even by moby fans. |

Re: moby's "machete"
This track, more than most on "Play", helps to bridge the gap with the sample-n-vocal friendly popular Moby of late with the punk-dance Mobester of the early 90's, It has the agressive punk edge like "Animal Rights" and a few tracks on "Everything IS Wrong" (e.g. "What Love"), and still is very techno.
i agree, i wish he still knew how to make edgy dance tracks. "Last Night" was sooo much better than "Hotel" or even "18", but still sounds bland in comparison to "Moby" and "Everything is Wrong" and the plethora of early 90's singles. Funny you should single this track out here, too, because i distinctly remember a review of "Play" saying that "Machete" had an Underworld-esque vibe to it

Re: moby's "machete"
Okay, so here's the review of "Play" that states:
"the throbbing "machete" rips off Underworld as much as legally possible" http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/articl...iew/19949-play Um, consider the source.
