Re: Floyd founder Wright dies at 65
Wow. Pink Floyd was my first favorite band, and my first ever concert back in '88 (I think...) for the Momentary Lapse Of Reason tour. Very sad to hear this. I'll be listening to them all day now....

Nooooooooooo!
![]() This has truly saddened me. Pink Floyd was the soundtrack to most of my teenage years. Animals is still one of the best albums ever made, imo. I am very sorry to see him go.

Re: Floyd founder Wright dies at 65
Also very saddened to hear about Rick's death. He often stood in the shadows of Waters and Gilmour and was never venerated for his craft the way Emerson or Rick Wakeman was, but when you listen to DSOTM or Wish You Were Here, his presence was undeniable and larger than life. I remember being very pleased when The Division Bell came out, to see that he was once again listed as a Floyd member. And reading his take on being fired shortly before the tour for The Wall and how he aspired every night to go out and play his heart out as a "thank you" to his fans, Pink Floyd was his life and the band defined him as much as he defined the band.
One huge brick has truly been removed from Music's wall. |

Never mind DSOTM and Wish you were here, have a listen to the live Ummagumma album and Meddle. some of the keyboard work on the early stuff was truely great and he was, as you say FP, very underrated.
RIP Richard Wright
