I am really feeling this show. Where do you get dubstep State side? I assume you are in the US because of the time, but maybe you're broadcasting from the UK (this stuff does suit the early hours).

Here's a question that I've had for a while: what's the difference between dubstep and grime?

hey thanks! i really appreciate the feedback (because i almost never get any). some poor mixing this time, it's weird switching bpm sometimes.

i am in the US - i order dubstep from Red Eye Records, which is in Norwich but has really good shipping prices. the cost actually evens out and some people think it's cheaper. i've ordered some grime 12"s and mixtapes from Independance. Mondo Kim's on St. Mark's Place in Manhattan also stocks dubstep and grime.

dubstep and grime both came from UK garage -- dubstep is the bass-heavy dancefloor music and grime tends to be cheaper-sounding and built for MCs (and works better on the radio or in mix format IMO). however, grime MCs occasionally spit over dubstep instrumentals, and the more open-minded dubstep DJs like Kode9 play grime. i find grime harder (and less fun, because of a lack of MCs) to mix, but i still love it! one day grime will get the love it deserves.

Keep fucking archiving them god dammit. I'll hold the originals if need be, just PLEASE KEEP ARCHIVING GOD FUCK.
