John Carpenter's "The Thing"
Man, the Collector's Edition accompanying documentary is just a fun as the film.
P.S. I'm allowed to have internet again!!! God Bless America! We'll see how long this lasts... Just in case this shit breaks down again. How does one apply to write a column for TIME magazine. I'd like to pitch my column titled: [begin underline of title like the sometime do for magazine column headings]...And Now John Talks Trash On Democrats.[end underline of title like the sometime do for magazine column headings]

Re: John Carpenter's "The Thing"
this movie is great indeed! I have it on dvd although I don't think it's a collectors edition (is it a new release?).
Still has some of the best monster effects in any horror movie. The whole film is up there with Alien imo

Re: John Carpenter's "The Thing"
I'm tellin' ya, you NEED to get it. Nothing like watching a bunch of grown boys having fun with their toys. Not like Rush though.
Also, you'll see how the final image of The Thing was originally supposed to appear. I think, for the time-period, censors thought it would be too much for the audience to handle. Looked wicked beyond belief, but only a stop-frame image. It's soooo worth it.
