Re: Portishead - Third.
I hope it shows some development in their sound. I loved Dummy, but was slightly disappointed by the second album because it was so much of a more-of-the-same type of thing. I'm all for them still sounding like Portishead, but I do hope it doesn't sound like a bunch of tracks that could have been outtakes from Dummy again. It's a safe bet I'll buy it either way though...

Re: Portishead - Third.
Dummy is still one of my "played" albums from time to time. I really really really hope this is going to be as good.

but i understand your doubts, which did happen with tricky for me. after listening to vulnerable i almost lost complete interest in tricky for a long time. the lyrics just reeked of teen agnst rock themes and the rhyme schemes were about on par with a 6 years olds. plus that new girl's contributions vocally and lyrically ruined it for me. |
