FSOL - from the archives vol 4
hey

just went onto bleep.com today and saw that you can get Volume 4 of their archive series

...and something called "Archive Extracts 0.1" and "A Gigantic Globular Burst Of Antistatic"

in FLAC even!

That's totally weird, it's not even on the FSOL digital store yet. I wonder if they've abandoned it in favour of bleep. Will have to give it a listen nonetheless.

I really really glad if they're abandoning the FSOL digital store... or if - at least, everything will move to bleep

as
(a) their webstore was a bitch to navigate through
(b) bleep offers stuff in higher quality
(c) I can't do paypal...

Re: FSOL - from the archives vol 4
Much more importantly, Environments was released on FSOLDigital.com (only 13 years after it was announced), both it and Archive 4 are planned for a summer CD release.
New FSOL album is also on the way - "a lot of tracks in the bag" according to a certain Mr. Dougans...

Re: FSOL - from the archives vol 4
Archives 4 is out on CD on May 12th. Before that they're re-releasing all the old Pulse EPs (Indo Tribe/Mental Cube stuff) on CD on May 5th.
There's a new album of Yage material called The Woodlands of Old coming to FSOLDigital soon too.
I'm really finding it hard to keep up with all the material now.

Re: FSOL - from the archives vol 4
The tracks are a tad more on the darker/FSOL side of their early material, there's no vocal house like Candese, Semi-Real or indeed So This Is Love. But you'll recognise a couple of tracks from Accelerator and Earthbeat on there so if you're fond of that era it's definitely worth a listen - I rate most of this material as among the best from the early 90s.

Re: FSOL - from the archives vol 4
Sorry to bump such an old thread but as I've mentioned them before...
Environments is available on CD now (only 14 years late), as is The Peppermint Tree by The Amorphous Androgynous (more psych hippy stuff but probably the strongest of the three now) on Monday.
Archive 5, another of those Zeebox records from the 80s, two Brian solo projects and something called 2" Tape Reels with old demos are on their way to FSOLDigital this year, alongside Environments 2 & 3 and something called The Pod Room where all of their old ISDN shows and mixes will be available.
It's insane.

damn..

yea it is...

I NEVER imagined that they had so much stuff quite literally just laying about

and the fact that - even the "From the Archives" material doesn't sound at all like outtakes or unfinished songs
