Soundtracks
Listening to Philip Glass' Koyaanisqatsi at the moment and wondering how many soundtracks or albums can sound as epic and intense as this. It always gives me the chills.
Any recommendation will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Soundtracks
Biosphere - Substrata
I haven't heard anyone talk about this album on this forum, but it's one of the most beautiful and intense records I know. This is one of those albums that has the most effect when you listen this in its full glory. This record is so deep, that you might not always find the "courage" to listen to it. Also, I have had a unique moment in my life listening to this album. I never thought music could do this to me. Ok, I was a little bit stoned but I left a friend's house and when I got home I sat on the couch and... I felt so good. Like NOTHING mattered, everything was allright. There was nothing to worry about. My whole body had chills and my mind got to a higher level or something I don't know. It was indescribable. Maybe meditation reaches the same result, but I have never tried it. It was an amazing experience and I don't think one can "just" experience it. As I said, this record is deep. Hmmm. |

Re: Soundtracks
I can relate. Philip Glass and some afgaan sure do work for me. And I'm not a hash fan.
Will give a try to that album as well!

Re: Soundtracks
not a soundtrack but a compilation of soundtrack music: Ennio Morricone's Crime and Dissonance is flat-out awesome. a lot of his more obscure work.
speaking of Morricone, i'm big into The Thing OST. Goblin's OST for Argento's Suspiria is also classic. oh yeah, and RZA's soundtrack for Ghost Dog, not the one with all the rappers, but the Japanese import of the actual film score, which i paid a hefty sum for =_= |
