Does a non-personal tattoo exist?

I have tons of ideas for work but I'm still deciding if I want them. I know I definately want more ink but it takes time for me to actually get it.

Only thing I have right now is a 45 adapter in the inside of my right wrist. The next tattoo I'm definately getting is the hand print of my newborn child sometime in April. I want a 1/4 - 1/2 sleeve. Sort of a collage of things I'm into with part of it dedicated to my mother who passed on. Only problem is I have is finding a good artist. Well, I could probably find a great artist, I'm just afraid to ask them to draw up something only to find I don't like it. I'd feel like an ass.
