Yeah, go Chems, and maybe even LCD Soundsystem (though i thought the album was overhyped and one-paced). Isn't Kraftwerk's album a Live compilation? i mean, they're great, sure, and have been for 20+ years, but isn't there any newer artist with newer material to recognize? The list seems like it was made by reading a Rolling Stone magazine in 1996.

Re: Laugh at the Grammys- electronic/dance noms
well - I don't get how Kraftwerk can be listed... as it's not new material in any way, shape or form
and I REALLY liked Daft Punk's album, i still occasionally play it - at least more than LCD Soundsystem's one... I can't believe Fatboy Slim's was even nominated... damn that was a horrible album. my votes would go to: Best Dance Recording LCD Soundsystem for "Daft Punk Is Playing At My House" Best Electronic/Dance Album Human After All (Daft Punk) Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical Fever (Adam Freeland Remix) Adam Freeland, remixer (Sarah Vaughan) -or- Mr. Brightside (Jacques Lu Cont's Thin White Duke Mix) Jacques Lu Cont, remixer (The Killers) although... I'd prolly want "Fever" to win over Brightside, as a lot of Jacques lu Cont's remixes kinda sound all the same... and this one sounds just like his remix of "Four to the Floor" |

Re: Laugh at the Grammys- electronic/dance noms
Well, that's the Grammys for you. Clearly, M.I.A. and Out Hud should've been nominated for Best Electronic Album in place of Daft Punk and Fatboy Slim. And while Minimum-Maximum is fantastic, that spot should be reserved for new material.

well - honestly, of the remixes... I've only heard Fever, Flashdance, and Mr Brightside - and of those three - I'd say Fever is the best. I wouldn't vote for someone solely on their name, you know? |
