For ages I've always assumed the lyric to be
"Why don't you come out I feel like flying in twos"

whereas a friend (and most lyric sites online) are claiming it to be
"Why don't you call me I feel like flying in two"

does anyone else have any other interpretations?

'Homeless strays' makes more sense in the context of the full lyric - 'cats are gathering outside your window, homeless strays'.

But who really gives a shit, it's all about what you take from the song on a personal level. And Karl's barely intelligible on a lot of tracks, anyway xD

homeless trees. that's retarded. he says later "cats are gathering outside your window". it's either "homeless strays gathering" or i thought it might have been "open the straits, gather in". either way "homeless trees" is out.
