Far Above the World Tonight
Dear all,

If you're so inclined, here's a free musical download by one of my production aliases, Mental Health Consumer. It's entitled "Far Above the World Tonight" and is released by Secret Station Records. The link:

http://secretstationrecords.com/Free-Downloads.php

“Far Above the World Tonight” tells the tale of a forgotten satellite, frantically transmitting and circling the earth in ever narrowing orbits. Eight distinct tracks in a continuous mix linked by themes, the myriad sounds include live guitar, keyboards, and manipulated digital recordings, effects both terrestrial and celestial, moods both uneasy and uplifting. A couple of the tracks feature guitar-work from my fellow Abscrap Peter Nester.

I hope you'll take a listen and tell me what you think. After all, it's free. also, shop around Secret Station Records while you're there. They have a lot of wonderful artists to discover (and if you're feeling generous, my Mental Health Consumer "Interpreting the Hidden" CD is still available for $8). Other music free and otherwise that I've released is linked on my netlabel Believe In Billy Records.

Thanks, and take care,
holden

Re: Far Above the World Tonight
bumpers! c'mon, Craft! If i've oversaturated the scene, download it for my friend Pete, who graciously contributed some guitarwork to tracks 5 and 6 to smooth out the ordeal In fact, here's a truer representatikon of his playing - my effects are wheeled down and the additions are minimal"
The Abscraps: "22610" - http://www.archive.org/details/Abstraction22610

Seriously, now, i know that there's a ton of traffic competing for your listening time! I just find it odd when i release something with the best intentions and publicity and it gets a few dozen downloads - then i drop something as a joke and it gets 1,000+ in a few weeks!
Reminds me of art classes - i'd spend days on a painting and the professor would hate it. It's slop some paint in the bathtub and it was all accolades! Just goes to prove -subjectivity rules and you never know what the audience wants!

Re: Far Above the World Tonight
Giving this a go right now... Track 2 is doing it for me right now (the guitar works well).

But you're right, there's no accounting for people's tastes, always best to make music for yerself (and if anyone else likes it that's a brucie bonus etc).

Thanks for making it available.

EDIT: Still listening... 'Downward Through the Spheres' is rather lush too...
