Hostel
wtf?

half porn/half gore?

this movie used one of the most beautiful songs (sneaker pimps) in it. Any movie that uses and beautiful song in it has lost it scaryness

Re: Hostel
I LOVE HORROR GORE MOVIES!! The more twisted and horrorific the better. I was told by a guy at work that it was the most disturbing movie he'd seen. I saw it and told him he was a puss and I would show him movies ten times more f***ed up trhan that.

I was disappointed it it. There was entirely too much Frat-boy shit and not enough story or gore. There was only a couple of scenes with the torture and they didn't show much and were too short. The DVD release would have to add about an hour of new footage for me to sit through it again.

Re: Hostel
i never got around to seeing this movie...

partially b/c I kept getting it confused with "wolf creek" or whatever it was called...

going by the previews, it seemed like the exact same movie... like moreso than Armageddon / um... that other asteroid movie or those two movies about volcanos a few years back

so - were there any differences whatsoever between films? are either really worth seeing?

Re: Hostel
yeah.. i thought it was kinda horrible. it was like a really cliche college-kids-go-to-europe movie in the first half and then gore that wasn't all that exciting in the second half with with a story that wasn't compelling enough to really hold my interest.
then again, i watch a lot of horror movies and am a bit of a movie snob so perhaps my opinion isn't all that relevant to those who want to see it.

Re: Hostel
i'll join the ranks of the not overly impressed. gore was kinda so-so. its suggested as opposed to being shown. i didnt feel any connection with any of the characters in the movie.

i really liked cabin fever tho (same director) so was a bit suprised

Re: Hostel
One of the most disturbing films I've seen as well, loved it.

About an hour into it I leaned over to my bros' wife and said, "I've never seen so many boobies in my life!" She replied, "I know, I thought this was a horror flick." I said, "For me IT IS!"

Strangely enough the Daily Mail's film critic said it was disgusting and depraved and shouldn't be allowed to be shown in mainstream cinema
