Hey Karl...no knocking from me...
well, I for one won't be knocking the set you guys did last night...(re: todays uwlive post)

the (mic) sound was a bit dodgy in spots, but the actual 'set' was excellent...some real favs, as usual, plus three (i think) new tracks) and thats what us fans want...some jumpy numbers and something new and experimental...

i find the vibe at festivals different to 'own' gigs...people at festivals have paid to see everything, some to especially see Underworld as part of the event, others like Underworld but catch everything else in equal amounts, and others are just there because they know 'born slippy'....either way they all add to the 'vibe'...

whereas at an 'own' gig - fans have paid out specifically to see Underworld...its a completely different thing (and these fans may be more critical) - but 99% are enjoying the vibe you guys give us...

i drove all the way from Brighton to see one band yesterday - Underworld, and i went a short while after you guys came off stage...i for one can't knock it - its what i came to see...and i enjoyed it immensly...thank you

and i loved the emotion and love you guys shared on stage...especially Darren rubbing your head, Karl

i also loved the mini camera - shots of the mixing desk and your face

i appreciate that there are new things to try and different vibes to work off...but for me - this was one set i'd never seen before and i loved it simply because of that (oh, and Jumbo)...there was not one person near me knocking the show...it was all smiley and happy faces...

Karl, Rick and Darren, as is the saying round these parts at the moment:

you bring light in

Re: Hey Karl...no knocking from me...
The gig was great but how comes the sound was so poor? I'd really like to know if they were playing to restrictions or whether the sound engineers just made a bodge of it. I guarantee that there would be not one negative comment flying around about that gig had the sound been right.

The one thing that usually stands out to me when I watch Underworld is that the sound is always better than any other dance or music act, especially the deeper sounds. I try to explain the Underworld sound to my mates but unless you have seen them live I dont think people understand it. Thats why I was quite disapointed on Friday. I was standing right at the front on the right hand side and I could almost make out conversations of people standing around me. There were problems with the left hand side speakers during 2manydj's with about 45 minutes to go before UW came on and I was amazed that they didnt sort it all out.

All in all, I agree that the vibe of the night was good and it was great to see the lads back on stage again. That was my 6th time and now i've got that live taste back in my mouth I want more!! UK Winter tour?

Just thought I'd add that I used to post under the name SMC, I made a few posts but still nowhere near as many as you lot. Its cool that there are so many of you lot out there that share one of the same pasions as me.......the music of Underworld!

Roll on the new album and roll on more live dates!!

Re: Hey Karl...no knocking from me...
my mates said it was terrible - they could only make out bass, karl's mic was virtually silent - "a bit of a soupy mess" which really took the shine off...

Re: Hey Karl...no knocking from me...
couldnt make out the lyrics of the first track, which was a shame as it was new as well.

The sound was shit, 2manydj's were really pissed off,and so was i as teenage kicks was played and the sound just died.

Anyone saved saturdays uwlive pic? I was still at global gathering.
