Erm.......what the fuck is this? Seems like the NME have decided that a new genre needs to be created and have pinned new rave down to these kind of bands - "The Gossip, CSS, New York Pony Club"

Any thoughts etc?

nu rave is shite. i went to a "nu rave" thingy for new year. indie kids bopping along to the klaxons, all looking like russell fucking brand. raving is about glowsticks and going mental in a field with a thousand other people, raving is about sl2 and the klf and the prodigy experience played at full volume. not golden fucking skans.

Largely I agree. I'm failing to see the connection between nu-rave and rave, or 'old-rave'.
