Best remix to buy?
As some of you may know, im planning to play some new UW in my radio show for uni. Which mix should i buy from Beatport? Ideally id just like to play JAL To Tokyo but theres no rip of just the track, and im not gonna waste time attmepting to split the tracks, coz it wont sound good at all, plus its illegal!

But JAL to Tokyo is the first track on LBT so you can easily just fade it out before Billy Goat starts. You'll be fading everything in and out to some degree anyway on a radio broadcast.

Re: Best remix to buy?
It's not illegal to split a track.

Regarding the Riverrun Remixes, I've been listening to them over the past few days, and I'd have to say my favorites are:

JAL to Tokyo (Paul Woolford Vocal)
Play Pig (Buick Project Mix 2)
Play Pig (Pig & Dan Mix 1)
Peggy Sussed (Pete Heller Vocal)
Lenny Penne (High Society Mix)

I think those are all pretty radio-friendly.

Re: Best remix to buy?
I've played the LBT version of JAL to Tokyo on my radio broadcast every week lately. It fades very well between Billy Goat, just watch the time. I decided to split it up so I could set my player to single and not worry.

Re: Best remix to buy?
Are you worried about a sound quality issue from playing the downloads from the underworldlive.com store? If you are, I'd like to point out that the radio quality is entirely dependent on weather, distance and the listener's own sound system.
Reasonably encoded MP3s sound fine in a radio wave broadcast compared to CD audio or WAVs. Its not like you're playing it on a carefully tuned sound system at a club.

Re: Best remix to buy?
I'm a bit confused... how many Woolford mixes are there of JAL? The dub and the vocal that are on the promo cd/12", but what about the version played on the Essential mix some time ago? Sounds different to me..
(this has probably been discussed before, it's just me who's an idiot)

Re: Best remix to buy?
there are only two Paul Woolford remixes, the bud and the vocal

on the essential mix, he also uses the Acapella (side note: wouldn't that be nice to have?) and put it over another track

but I know what you mean, when I was trying to mix JAL the other day... it just didn't sound 'right'... then I went back and listened to the EM. At least to me, it sounds like what he played was a bit of an edit of the track (as if it wasn't completely done at the time)

like how soon that string/synth bit comes in

but then again... he could've just transitioned from the beginning of the track, skipped over the middle, then mixed in the end part

JAL to Tokyo (Vocal mix)
Paul Woolford is really good dj/producer, nice to have him on the board

Re: Best remix to buy?
There are two official remix versions of Jal to Tokyo - the Dub & Vocal

There is also an unoffcial unreleased - 'demo mix' that Paul Woolford did which is longer (9 minutes something) and slightly different to the main vocal mix.

Also because Paul Woolford remixed the track he had several of his own versions and breaks of the track which he played out live in his sets towards the end of last year, when it was under the name of Mr & Mrs Christmas and called Bang the Poll

there are at least 4 acapella versions because several playlists listed tracks which numbered up to acapella mix 4 (you may have some of these from the shows that some people edited out - i know i have some that someone broke out of the mixes he did, last year).

they are labelled: Mr & Mrs Christmas - Bang the Poll (Acapella Mix 3)

But of versions that are available to buy there are three versions, the RRP version - on the 12" (an unedited version of the RRP track) and the two afforementioned Paul Woolford Mixes, one of which was available on Japan i-Tunes, i think.

hope this clears it up for you

Matt

Re: Best remix to buy?
Cheers guys, my confusion has gone now. The Essential 'mix' is clearly my favourite, a shame it's not available elsewhere.
