JPT Final
May not be much interest here, but we've won some silverware!
Saints v Carlisle in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. I'm a long-suffering Saints fan.
It was a great day out, there is something quite special about seeing your team climb the steps at Wembley, even better to watch them lift a cup.

Some may look down on the JPT but a bigger crowd than last season's Eufa Cup and Champions League finals, so I'm told....perhaps that's to do with tickets available, but I won't let that ruin a good stat.

Met our billionaire owner, our new chairman, Matt Le Tiss and Franny Benali on the way out, which was a little surreal.
Shook their hands and thanked all and sundry for a smashing day out.
New Wembley is pretty impressive, anyone else go...or watch it on the telly?

Re: JPT Final
The highlights werent on til late and i was tired My bro is a Donny Rovers fan and went to the final a few years ago. Good day out for all. Tho that was the last ever final played in Cardiff. I really wish they'd not call the trophy after the sponsor tho. The Football League Trophy is a far better name. Looked like the stadium was packed!

Re: JPT Final
I went to Cardiff for the FA Cup in 2003.
Maybe it's cos we won this one, Arsenal didn't even get out of second gear in that final, but Wembley seems more special for football finals.

We did have a cracking day in Cardiff too, despite the footy.

Football League Trophy, brought to you by Johnstone's Paints? No objection from me, might confuse a few people who can't figure out why Man U aren't playing.

Donny Rovers eh? Still pushing for a playoff place, would you go for the playoff final? That looked like the best fun ever for Burnley last season.

Re: JPT Final
Im a Wednesdayite and I went to the League One playoff in 2005 at Cardiff which we won 4-2. Great day out. Cardiff was a good drink, friendly (tho this was daytime ) The same brother has been to 3 finals (the playoff to get promoted to the league from the conf, the football league trophy and the league one playoff vs Leeds) so its not bad being a rovers fan these days. Theyre even doing better than the Owls, much to my displeasure. Havent got anything against them tho. Family loyalties split between the two cities.

Goes to show far some sides have come though if you look at the list of former winners: Hull, Wigan, Wolves, Bolton, Birmingham (twice), Stoke...

I think it'll never get much publicity but its a nice consolation for teams that will never win the Prem League, the league cup or the FA Cup.

Never say never, remember you heard about Southampton's humble rebirth here first.

Looking forward to your next derby, always a great fixture.
