Here's what I do:

I understand, with the tanking economy & all, people just have their jobs to do. So, when I get a call, I answer the phone and put it down near the speaker so the collections operator can have some nice on-hold music to listen to. I mean, I gots no money, so, I'm gonna have to put them on hold until I do. And, it's like a win-win situation. They're doing their job, to good elevator music, and I'm just putting them on hold.
