Is Rick camera/interview shy?
Just that Karl and Rick both have different inputs in to the UW sound, but its always Karl who is the one to be interviewed. I think the last thing Rick did was the equipment interview which was extremly detailed to say the least!

Re: Is Rick camera/interview shy?
well, I'd definitely say Rick likes to stay in the background and Karl, being the energetic frontman, naturally takes on most of the interviewing stuff...
I'd like to hear more from Rick of course, but I'm happy with him just making his wonderful music as well
It'll be interesting to see how Pricey will fit into it...I don't think we ever heard that much from Emerson either.

Re: Is Rick camera/interview shy?
Darren Price will not need to fit in to underworld he has always been there since underworld as we know them best 1992 on wards, he has done countless remixes some of which have probs never been released he has DJ ed at underworld gigs when they go on tour and he understands the meaning and set up of the band i said back in 2000 to my mates when emerson left that price would replace emerson. It was quite obvious from the a hundred days off tour in 2002 that karl and rick were not quite comfortable playing as a duo as rick was overworked behind the mixing desks and this resulted in songs not being mixed into each other and underworld lost the "jam" effect they were so famous for live. I certainly noticed this as i seen them in 1999 and the gig was continuous one song mixed into another lots of jamming and impros and the visuals were there as well definetly the best live period for the band. Although in 2002 the visuals had gone as did the jamming and underworld to be honest looked tired although i still enjoyed the gig. Price is there to do exactly what emerson was there for to mix and to add a more techno / industrial edge back to the band that they were lacking since emerson left as the majority or material recorded since emerson left was very soft and floaty no real edge to it so i think price will give them the edge they need especially on the live front.

Re: Is Rick camera/interview shy?
Yes i agree with u, DestroyRock@Roll. U said it all but let me add, that Price is not remixer only. (We know him as Remixer) But he have success career as a producer. His collaboration with Hotei is amazing. Also dont forget Under The Flightpack album from 1997.
Time will tell if he will fits in the band, but I must say that he is doing good job in this tour.
Its nice to see Uw as Three. Rick Smith is no more alone...

Yeh i agree i am a fan of darren price i actually prefer his mix of born slippy to the original now and i think airspace is class track also the mix of push upstairs oozes a good underground sound.

Yes I know all that I was talking about "fitting in" concerning interviews, which is what the original post was about.

Re: Is Rick camera/interview shy?
Karl has always been frontman and always will, he always does the interviews, why would this change Rick just has no interest in the media, karl is all about lyrics and expression so he does all that. Darren Price is there to help rick on the technical side of things mixing desks etc and to give more imagination in the techno side of things when writing and playing live

Re: Is Rick camera/interview shy?
ya. i also sometimes wonder about what rick is "thinking". it is good that we get so much out of karl but also would be neat getting a vibe from rick too
