WRNTDP ?
More Aural Goodness - WRNTDP
Warrington Runcorn New Town Development Plan (catchy name), just a guy in his bedroom in the brutal North West of England, in a Concrete Jungle of 1970's conceptual future living. The music is just as brutal, very soundtrack oriented, evocative of Public Information Films for New Towns, the visuals and sound just work together to make a bleak retro futuristic soundscape where Low Rise Concrete apartments intersect with huge Tarmac bypasses, roundabouts and inner city shopping centres. As bleak as it sounds, but as optimistic as New Towns were in the 1970's Quite the back catalogue. This one, Rocksavage, possibly a flavour of the man ! |

Re: WRNTDP ?
I listened through to this record ("The Nations Most Central Location) and a few other tracks from their catalog, at your suggestion. It's definitely a mood!
More specifically, sounds like a "Stranger Things"/retro 80s synth soundtrack. Aside a few tracks, it's pretty doomy and gloomy, which is fine if you're willing to immerse in that state for an extended period. I get their theme of promised progress vs what is lost or replaced, a future that under delivers. Still, well done synth soundscapes and mood music!
