Older Faithless: Pre- "No Roots"
I picked up Sunday 8PM when I was relatively young (about 12) and didn't much care for it, so it sat on a shelf until I got a computer and put all my CD's on a computer, but there it sat again. I got Outrospective the year it came out I think but again, didn't care too much then; I was too much into raw dance music and didn't care for much substance other than some goosebumps or headrush.
Well recently, I've been listening to these 2 albums quite a lot and there have been certain songs that stuck out in my mind or would play randomly on occasion through my head during a world event going on. The change I've been doing lately is that I have been listening to them with big head phones on while relaxing on a sofa. There is a lot I have missed and have grown a huge appreciation for Faithless so much more. My favorite revisited songs are: Sunday 8PM: 2. Bring my family back 3. Postcards 8. Hem of his garment (an absolute favorite) 10. Killer's Lullaby (ditto) The rest of the tracks are solid but these are my favorite revisted. There is a lot of background noise that have gone unnoticed to me. Be sure to listen to them loud with the big head phones. Outrospective: 2. Not enuff love (this song is awesome) 3. Muhammed Ali 4. Machines R us (cool but only under certain conditions, if you get me) 9. Giving myself away (another absolute favorite) but yea, just throwing that out there. I've looked up the reviews for these albums and I don't think they are accurate. There's just, so much effort in some of their stuff. |
