Heads up on new stuff
Just wondering, do you think we will get a heads up of when a new track will be played for us to hear? From my memory:

TMO - Announced to be on Pete Tong
JAL - No notice to us, discovered by mistake an the essential mix as it was under the Mr and Mrs Christmas tag. Think another version on Tongs show was also given no heads up.

Start monitoring the teletext!

I would guess that a new track would be on Tong, if it's from the album. Although it's more likely to be on some Japanese thingy.

Re: Heads up on new stuff
Its funny, I started getting into Underworld seriously in 1996, Pete Tong played Dark & Long (ive never worked out why he played it - i used to record his show on minisisc to listen too later and i still have it..) and I thought 'i have to get to get this track..'

I then took a trip to HMV, only to find the Dark & Long EP - i also got the Pearls Girl EP and STITI.

So there

Hehe

I have Tongy (and my sis) to thank for first hearing Underworld too. She used to record the essential selection on cassette on a Friday night, and bring them over to me when I was in France. That is how I first heard Cowgirl.

I have to thank Steve Lamacq for introducing me to u/w. He played King of Snake virtually every night prior to the release of Beaucoup Fish. I remeber turning up the radio every time and thinking "Ive never heard music like this before...and it's faaab!" Then my local HMV in Oxford played Jumbo on the PA and I was riding the spaceshuttle

Re: Heads up on new stuff
if we're thanking people for our first listen to underworld - i think it might have been Justin Robertson, Ricardo da Moonboots, Graham Massey or one of the other million lackies who worked in Eastern Bloc in Manchester who played me Big Mouth back in 92, which i promtly bought...
