Songs for a Fashion Show?
A friend of mine asked me to DJ her art show/fashion show. I was wondering if anyone had any outstanding ideas for runway music? You know: sexy, strutting, darker would be good too since the clothes are kind of cybergoth-ish. I'm definately looking for something that isn't played in the gothclub atmosphere all the time.

I'm totally serious: Marilyn Manson's cover of "I Put a Spell on You". I heard a stripper dance to this once and I would have married her.

Re: Songs for a Fashion Show?
The more I think about it, the more I wish my production/writing skills were up to the challenge of making something new.

Last night, on my radioshow, I tried some stuff out but I'm still not sure what to play. So far I have Goldfrapp-Ride a White Horse (FK-EK vocal) and maybe something from Product 01 in mind. But who knows I'll probably decide tonight I don't like those songs anymore.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Re: Songs for a Fashion Show?
ok ... wow - I get to finally boast about this!!! (this happened like 2/3 years ago, and it has NEVER come up in an appropriate venue)

I actually dated a stripper.

yes, for a couple of months

although - I should clarify, she had stopped stripping by the time we dated, but she and I were friends for quite a while when she was still working. It was kind of one of those deals where she had this real dick of a boyfriend, and we'd go running or hangout all the time (not knowing that we both had a thing for each other)

we eventually broke up b/c she lived in Chicago, I lived in DC... and it got a bit stressful. We still hung out quite a lot... until she started dating this Egyptian guy (as in - he came to the US from Egypt for school) who outright forbade her from speaking to me... which totally sucks [and like... when we have been in social situations with mutual friends, we can talk - if the douche isn't there.. but like there can be no candid photos that happen to have both of us in them

but anyways... about tracks for a show ->

American Gigolo III - Mixed & Compiled By Princess Superstar
International Deejay Gigolos CD Ten - an unmixed compilation by Dj Hell (tons of tracks that you could use for a darker fashion/art show... trust me)

another album with a bunch of use-able tracks would be Zombie Nation - Black Toys

and individual tracks...
Prince - Erotic City
the Rakes - We Danced Together (SebastiAn Remix)
Klaxons - The Bouncer (South Central Bootleg)
Simian Mobile Disco - It's the Beat
New Young Pony Club - The Bomb (phones edit)
pretty much anything you can get by Surkin, Boys Noize, Digitalism, MSTRKRFT (especially their remixes of otehr bands)
