James Lavelle / Paul Daley Mixset (d/l) and TRACK ID PLEASE!
ok - so I just got "[2002-03-11] - BB - Paul Daley & James Lavelle [Recorded Live at Fabric]" the other day, and the first track James plays after "Get Ready" sounds reeeealy familiar, and very Orbital-sounding, but I can't place the track
so I was wondering if someone could download the set, and let me know what the track is James Lavelle's part http://www.sendspace.com/file/j84kd1 Paul Daley http://www.sendspace.com/file/jjtoic ...and you're welcome for the Paul Daley part, as I really just need to figure out the (technically second) track in the JL set. It's what comes in after Rare Earth - "Get Ready" (which James uses to open every set he does) |

Re: James Lavelle / Paul Daley Mixset (d/l) and TRACK ID PLEASE!
what track samples Supertramp?
(edit) I should clarify, while I do know of that band, I couldn't tell you a single song of theirs, or even identify any song as being theirs the track that I was asking about starts at about 1:42 into the set, and then continues on until... 9:27, when layo & bushwacka's "shining through" comes in so basically : Rare Earth - Get Ready Unknown - Unknown Layo & Bushwacka - Shining Through Ils - Next Level Felix da Housecat - What Does it Feel Like (Royksopp mix) FC Kahuna - Glitterball Last edited by joethelion; 02-28-2007 at 06:24 PM. |

Yeah, definately Supertramp's "Goodbye Stranger". It's stripped abit from the original. It's missing a note or two. Not sure about who did the actual track we hear. Sounds white label. What sounds like synth at the end of original is actually a guitar. Only person I would compare playing like that now-a-days would be T. Morello of Rage Against the Mach.
I am certain you'll know the song when you hear it, that's why it sounds familiar. Classic whatever-one-would-call Supertramp's music. "Breakfast in America" is an essential. One great achievement after another on that album when it comes to sound engineering/recording styles.
