Flying Burrito Brother "Sneaky" Pete Kleinow dies
Not sure how many of you are familiar with the Flying Burrito Brothers, a band founded by Gram Parsons and Chris Hillman back in the late 60's and 70's, but their guitarist, "Sneaky" Pete Kleinow died last Saturday. He also worked in the visual effects industry between music projects, and sat next me at Sony when I first started here about 8 years ago. Definitely made for some interesting times around here. I loved hearing his stories about playing at Hollywood venues back in the day....stories that included Jim Morrison and the Rolling Stones and such. Here's the obituary.

Re: Flying Burrito Brother "Sneaky" Pete Kleinow dies
Haven't really given them enough of a listen yet, but as far as The Byrds connection goes, they certainly were one of the great bands, with Notorious Byrd Brothers an outstanding album. Hillman's bass playing on Draft Morning one highlight that comes to mind.
Burritos maybe a bit too country for me, but I wouldn't be surprised to see that opinion change with some more listens. She's a Devil in Disguise, if that's its proper title, certainly a great track.
