got the ortofon concorde pro s
and to balance the tonearm, i turned the ring around the place where the tonearm attaches, and lifted the height.... and now whenever i lift the needle off of the record, and i close the cover, it bumps the needle cos i've got it up so high... so i've got the tracking force at 4 grams, but i don't know how high to set the height. any suggestions? i'm just using the rubber mat, not a slipmat.

the rubber mat is much larger and thicker than the slipmat. i'd say, get a slipmat and ditch the rubbers.

I don't use the dust cover myself. It might not look that good, but I prefer covering my turntables from dust with a towel.

well, it's not skipping or anything (in fact it's not skipping at all, even less than when i had the stanton), and the tonearm isn't bending down to touch the record or anything, whereas before it was bending upwards to touch the record. so maybe i'll just keep it that way. the brush included is to brush off the needle, right? i'm afraid i'm tearing it up, those bristles are kind of tough.

yes, use that brush but be gentle. always clean your LP's before putting them on.

I remember as I kid when my grandmother had records I used to clean them with a velvet towel type of thing before putting them on. But that was a long time ago, dammit I want a turntable so bad!
