Re: The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy
Yeah, I was surprised. Especially by Mos Def. This guy will be a superstar.
I read the first 4 books, really enjoyed them. But I never they would make a decent flick out of it. They pulled it off. |

Re: The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy
Loved the books, but I don't think they translate well into film. I was cringing half the time during the movie.

Re: The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy
I thought they made a decent film out of it, but I couldn't shake the feeling that most of the humor in the books came from the language, and that all the sight gags in the world couldn't quite add up to that level of wit. I liked the cast.

Re: The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy
I'm with gambit on this one .
I was very close to getting up and walking out in disgust .It made me sick in the guts and left me in a shitting mood for days . Yea it was pretty with all the eye candy but seemed to lack substance and any depth . Just another bad hollywood mash of book by turning it into a love story to keep the masses happy. The only thing that gave it a smidgeon of credibility was the camo by Marvin. I think I was 7 or 8 when I first watched the BBC tv version and started reading the books and it kind of was a special part of my childhood . I'm all for progression and taking it to the next level but I just dont think the guys making the blockbuster version got it , or the sense of humour of Douglas Adams . |
