the Omen (remake)

so yea - for shits and giggles I met up with two of my friends to catch the movie last night

all I can say is:

yep - It's totally true, you can't polish a turd

honestly, the original Omen was one of the only movies I've ever rented and not finished b/c it was just so plain... well - not good

what I will say though, is that there are some suspenseful points - one enough where this Fratboy-esque guy jumped out of his seat and almost grabbed my hand (and he was a stranger)

-> but even those points were like... oh ok - somethings totally gonna happen here

only improvements were that the photographer and the nanny were not nearly as hoaky as I remember them in the original

and wtf was up with the Sith Lord being in the middle of a monestary's courtyard while it was snowing?

the end sequence where Liev comes back home... COME ON! that's got to be the most "how can you be that dumb" moment in recent history

why is it that Liev Schreiber always seem to play the exact same character in every movie? I kinda feel bad for him, as the last movie I saw with him in it was that second-rate remake of "The Manchurian Candidate"... man... they totally ruined the ending of that one
